Float through the basalt rock canyon of the lower Rio Grande into the lush, peaceful Orilla Verde State Park near Taos, NM. This relaxing 3-hour float is perfect for adults seeking a relaxed, scenic voyage. There are also spots along this section of the river that are suitable for swimming.

Fly into Taos Airport (KSKX), only 191 nm southwest of KAPA, on Friday.
After lunch, visit the San Francisco de Asis church, over 200 years old. Later, stroll around the historic Taos Plaza, once a Spanish fortified and walled plaza now surrounded by numerous galleries offering works by renowned Taos Artists from the present and past.
Discover stores with southwestern and Native American collectibles, mercantiles, an award winning chocolate store, cafes, and restaurants.
Our usual happy hour will commence at 5:30. BYOB and a snack to share.

| Saturday, June 6th |
|
Saturday morning, we visit the Rio Grande Gorge bridge and hike along the West Rim trail. After lunch we will enjoy floating the river, followed by dinner at the famous Doc Martins restaurant just off the plaza.
The plan is to stay at the Historic Taos Inn, with authentic New Mexico charm, just two blocks from the plaza.

On Sunday, we return to the airport and fly home, back over the river gorge that we floated the day before.
Come join us in beautiful Taos on the Rio Grande!
