Biography

Rob and his wife Andrea, also a pilot, live and work from their home at the Crawford Colorado airpark (99V) just north of Gunnison and a 20 minute drive from "Gold Medal" trout fishing. With the first 40 years of his life spent in Phoenix, Rob received his pilot license there in 1974. That is also where he restored and flew the Commemorative Air Force B-17 Flying Fortress "Sentimental Journey" and their He-111. After moving to Crawford, he stopped flying the "big iron" and flew the Grand Junction CAF TBM Avenger at airshows throughout the west. As the GJ CAF Maintenance Officer, he kept the TBM in great condition, and restored much back to WWII equipment. As a CFI, he also has taught Mountain Flying for the CAP and Colorado Pilots Association course. Professionally speaking, Rob worked in the computer and semiconductor industry for Honeywell, IBM, and Motorola before becoming a consultant. His latest business was website design, hosting and Internet marketing. While most of his 250+ websites are aviation-related businesses, he has done a few others. He retired in 2017.When not dreaming about warbirds, ham radio, scuba diving, skeet and trap shooting, trout fishing and hiking/camping fulfill his remaining spare time.
