KLMO - Longmont City Council Meeting
About this event
Longmont City Council will decide next Tuesday Oct 28 (7 pm) at 350 Kimbark St whether to impose landing fees at KLMO. Our best information is that the council is poised to approve some version of the fees. They have had city financial staff working on financial modeling of various fee options for a year, and tilting the assumptions in favor of fees, while not considering other revenue options like new hangars. The mayor and several council members will be replaced this election, adding to their urgency.
It is very important that we try to stop these fees because they could spread to more airports and affect GA statewide.
We are requesting that CPA members take two actions:
1. contact city council today, before Tuesday, to oppose the fees. You can contact the city council here:

An even better option is to email or call each council member individually. Their email addresses and phone numbers are here: https://longmontcolorado.gov/government/mayor-city-council-members/
The arguments against the fees are many and you can choose what you think is the most persuasive. Here is the CPA page on landing fees with many of the arguments.

2. Please attend the City Council meeting if you can and speak to oppose the fees, especially if you live in or near Longmont. Landing fees is agenda item 9c. The Landing fees ordinance is outlined on pages 283-287 of the packet
Thanks for your efforts on behalf of GA.
