The Taxiway K/D project kicks off on August 18 when the airport's contracted construction firm,American West Construction, LLC, begins work.
Note that this project involves:
- the reconstruction of a part of Taxiway D near the Pilatus leasehold,
- demolition of a portion of Taxiway F (and redesignation and rebuilding as a vehicle service road)
- construction of new Taxiway K into the airport's Southwest Development Area,
- Broomfield water and sanitary sewer adjustments along Callender Dr.,
- relocation of Xcel electric and natural gas service lines,
- construction of an airport perimeter fence to contain the Southwest Development Area, and
- construction of cul-de-sacs on each end of Callender Driveto reflect the disconnection due to Taxiway K
While the disconnection of Callender Drive may have some impact, the project represents the airport's long-term plans to connect the Southwest Development Area to the existing airfield in order to accommodate future aeronautical demand. We appreciate your continued collaboration as the airport invests in the southside of the airfield.
